Florida State Player Fled Crash but Got Only Traffic Tickets – NYTimes.com.
I commented on a previous story about Florida State.
Here is the comment I made on this article.
“This story is not really about football. Nor is it about Florida State.
This story is about a corrupted system of higher education.
The attitude that university administrators show toward sports is not going to be any different than the attitude that the same scoundrels (sorry, administrators) will have toward anything.
What should worry everyone is that these people can really get away with murder when it comes to education. It’s much harder to discover the harm they have done until years later.
They get away with that harm because their “customers” are young and easily fooled by pretending that customer “wants” are the same as student “needs”.
If anyone is not convinced that football is just the tip of the iceberg, and wants to learn more, they can go to my non-commercial blog inside-higher-ed . (I especially recommend reading the stories about the “elite” university where I taught – not because that university is especially bad, but because I know it well enough to tell detailed, documented tales, that are similar to other tales from other universities.)
The damage to this country caused by unscrupulous administrations when they rob our youth of their future far eclipses almost any other harm that they do.
