I just read something in today’s Financial Times that made me think about the quick growth in higher education that we undertook in the 60’s.

That may well be part of what produced the stories in the category “university education dumbs down high school. The money was spent with a good purpose – higher education accessibility and satisfying a need for engineers and scientists – but it was too much, too fast.
