“Doesn’t a more educated society create a stronger economy? Doesn’t the internet create jobs? Doesn’t a society who can understand and support economically valuable public policy create jobs and a better society?
A college “education” does create jobs and a better society. A college degree without an attached education -which is what we have far too much of – wastes resources, especially human capital.
The Editors are correct if they are claiming that “college” by itself will only produce “overdegreed” workers for whom there will be no demand. They are wrong if they care claiming that a college “education” will only produce workers for whom there will be no demand.”
