Mishandling Rape – NYTimes.com.
I commented.
“”…if schools are genuinely interested in preventing sexual assault…”
That is when I stopped reading this thoughtful, but moot, article.
Until the genuine interest of colleges is no longer self-aggrandizement – whether that be through football, through endowment, or through attracting students with inflated grades and parties – and, until colleges are held accountable, they will only change on their surface.
Until all of us realize just how much damage the fraud that much of higher education has become – and the harm it is doing to us economically, politically and socially – we are gong to continue on our current path.
As a former professor, I try to do my part by writing a blog, inside-higher-ed. But there are also many excellent books out there like “Academically Adrift” and “Paying for the Party’. I hope more people will read them and realize what is happening.”
